The US MAC Finds Qualified and Targeted Potential Clients for Face-to-face Meetings as Part of the 2006 TEKES North America Access Program 

As the main public funding organization for research and development in Finland, TEKES (http://www.TEKES.fi) funds industrial projects as well as projects in research organizations, and especially promotes innovative, risk-intensive projects. 

For TEKES’ North America Access Program (NAAP) Tour, the US Market Access Center (http://www.usmarketaccess.com) was commissioned to set up a total of 9 face-to-face meetings for 3 healthcare technology companies funded by TEKES with potential customers and partners.  TEKES chose to utilize the US MAC due its proximity to the Bay Area, contacts with high-level decision makers, and the experience of its Senior Consultants in the healthcare technology industry. 

The targets of these meetings were at the Director level or above, typically in charge of corporate wellness programs, at healthcare providers, insurance providers, fitness centers, and pharmacies located in the Bay Area. 

Solution: Revenue Generation Services 

Generating sales begins with access to the right decision makers. The US MAC’s high level industry professionals have access to, and credibility with, decision makers within the healthcare industry.   

The process began with US MAC Senior Consultants and Associates coordinating with executives of the TEKES companies in order to prioritize targets for the face-to-face meetings.  During the process, the US MAC also gave feedback on sales presentations and strategic recommendations for product positioning in the US market.  After creating a profile of ideal customers, the US MAC utilized its extensive and historical reach in the Valley, and proprietary database of US decision makers, to quickly schedule meetings – in this case, the turnaround time was within one month. 

Results 

The results of the US MAC’s efforts:  

  • Over 12 arranged meetings with Kaiser Permanente, Safeway, fitness centers, pharmacies, and other major healthcare providers in the Bay Area, exceeding the requirements for this project.
  • Meetings were facilitated by US MAC Senior Consultants and TEKES company executives received extensive feedback after the meetings.
  • Executives received feedback from an expert panel comprised of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, CEO’s, and healthcare experts set up by the US MAC.
  • TEKES companies were extremely satisfied – some companies have begun negotiations with the US MAC to continue using US MAC Revenue Generation services.
