Florence Shaffer graduated from Harvey Mudd College where she received a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with an emphasis in mechanical and manufacturing principals. Harvey Mudd's comprehensive engineering program has allowed Ms. Shaffer the ability to work in a variety of industries including civil & traffic engineering, product design, transportation design, software, and business consulting.

Upon graduation Ms. Shaffer worked for a growing traffic engineering company in Los Angeles where she worked closely with government agencies through the design and approval process of traffic & civil plans for the greater Los Angeles County. During her time at the traffic firm, Ms. Shaffer also acted as office manager, an on-site construction manager, and created the company's website design.

Ms. Shaffer was also a design engineer for BMW Group's DesignworksUSA where she worked on multiple products from initial concept through prototyping to creating the final computer models ready for manufacturing. The products ranged from energy efficient transportation to highly advanced sport watches, kitchenware, exercise machines, company branding, and sporting equipment to name a few. Just before joining US MAC Ms. Shaffer served as an engagement manager for Aragon Consulting Group, a U.S. based software consultancy with development team located in Beijing. At Aragon she managed several deadline-driven projects in parallel from conception to successful launch through coordination of client requests and the Beijing team.

In 2006 Ms. Shaffer completed the full Pastry program from the Le Cordon Bleu Program in Paris and in her free time creates recipes for people with diet restrictions, such as food allergies. Ms. Shaffer has also taken courses at the Pasadena Art Center to supplement her hobby in designing and building everyday products for personal use.
