Entrepreneur Training

Since 1995, the US Market Access Center (US MAC) has developed extensive expertise in educating non-US entrepreneurs in ”The Silicon Valley Way” of creating and growing technology and clean-tech companies. The US MAC has delivered workshops, seminars, boot camps and other types of training to hundreds of entrepreneurs from over 20 countries.

In 2010, the US MAC formed a partnership with the Kauffman Foundation to offer the FastTrac® entrepreneurial training program to non-US entrepreneurs. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, the Kauffman Foundation is the world’s largest foundation devoted to entrepreneurship. FastTrac® is a practical, hands-on, learning program designed to help entrepreneurs hone the skills needed to create, manage, and grow a successful business. The Kauffman Foundation has invested over $20 million developing and refining FastTrac® over a period of eight years. What is “many years”?

FastTrac® participants don’t just learn about business — they live it. They work on their own business ideas or existing ventures throughout the program – moving their enterprises from concept to reality. Programs combine facilitator-led sessions, small-group exercises, guest subject-matter experts, and idea-sharing with peers with more formal business coaching and mentoring. Since 1993, FastTrac has been taught to over 300,000 entrepreneurs around the world.

FastTrac® TechVenture™& Growth Venture™
US MAC offers two distinct customized FastTrac® curricula for entrepreneurs.

Kauffman FastTrac® TechVenture™ provides the tools to develop and/or hone the skills you need to understand the business behind the technology—skills to start, operate, fund, and grow a technology or life sciences-based business.

Kauffman FastTrac® GrowthVenture™ provides the tools and support to carefully review and evaluate important aspects of your business, explore next-stage growth and opportunities, and reshape your existing business for future profitability and improved business performance.

My current start-up company, Vizyontech Imaging, is developing an ultrasound medical device to enter the European market. USMAC is the fifth incubator that I have worked with over my career and in my experience, they have it all “just right”. Perhaps the best value of this incubator is a great team of support staff that WORK rather than just giving advice. All companies need a critical – and flexible – mixture of contact introductions, support partners, training programs and USMAC does an excellent job in their offering. We have a need that spans from strategic inputs, like President Omar Mencin’s expertise in international and finance out of Goldman-Sachs, to market research/interface/training provided by Alfredo Coppola and Michael Loh’s consulting and mentor team, and the day-to-day smooth operational support (and creature comforts!) managed by Client Services Associate Jennifer Ly.-
